Privacy

In short: we store only what the service needs to work, and nothing that could identify the person opening a link.

When you create a link

We store the destination address, the link settings (validity, open limit and a password hash) and a hash of the management page address. We don’t store who created the link. If link checking is on, our server requests the destination address about once a day to see that it still works; no information about visitors is involved.

When someone opens a link

We increase daily counters: the number of opens, the country, the device type, the browser name and the domain of the referring site. The country is looked up in the server’s memory from the IP address using a local database, and the IP address is discarded right after. We also count how many times our home page is loaded per day and from which countries, in the same way as daily totals with no other information about the visitor.

What we never store

IP addresses, tracking cookies, device identifiers, browser fingerprints, full referring addresses or individual clicks. We use no analytics or ad services, and our pages load nothing from third-party servers. If you switch between light and dark mode, the choice is stored only in your browser.

Preventing abuse

We limit link creation and password attempts. For this we derive an encrypted, irreversible identifier from the IP address, which is deleted within 24 hours. Destinations are checked against a blocklist of harmful sites on our own server, and addresses are never sent to third parties.

If you create an account

We store your email address, a hash of your password, your plan and, on Pro, a hash of your API key. If you add a QR logo or colors, we store them with your account. When you log in, we set one strictly necessary cookie that keeps you logged in for up to 30 days; it contains a random identifier and nothing else. We don’t store the IP address or browser details of your sessions. Deleting your account removes this data immediately.

Pro waitlist

If you join the waitlist, we store your email address, language and the time you confirmed. We use it only to tell you about the Pro launch and your launch price. Unconfirmed sign-ups are deleted after a week. Every email has a link to leave the list, which deletes your address immediately.

Retention

Links created without an account expire within 14 days and are then deleted completely, and their statistics are kept for 14 days. On a free account links expire after 60 days unless renewed, and statistics are kept for 30 days; on Pro for as long as the link exists. Other expired or deleted links are removed completely after 30 days.

Third parties

We don’t sell or share data with anyone. The service uses no external fonts, scripts, analytics or ads. Account emails are sent from our own server.
